On the 14th July we are having a celebration event at The Red Door. Rather than a normal service format, we are having a festival style day at church with Guest singer song writer Andrew Winton at both the 10am and 5pm service times. This will be a great opportunity to invite friends and family to come and hang out with us. The cafe will be open during for the whole service time, with food vans as well, hopefully fresh hot churros (spanish donuts) will all be available, popcorn and a few other special surprises. It will certainly be a Sunday with a difference at The Red Door - good for the whole family.
Award winning West Australian singer-songwriter Andrew Winton specialises in lap slide guitar and is known for his on-stage warmth, infectious live shows, humour, stellar musicianship and quirky & poetic lyric writing. He is also recognised for his diverse musical styles with influences ranging from blues & roots, folk, jazz, gospel, and country/bluegrass! He is a genius on his array of weird & wonderful lap style guitars, also plays beautiful/lyrical acoustic guitar, and infuses it all with a range of intricate & percussive rhythms thanks to his background as a drummer! His voice has been compared to Sting & Ben Harper, a blend of sweet and strong perfectly suited to the wide range of styles he writes & performs in.
See you there!
On Friday the 10th May we would love to invite you and your Mum to ‘Love Ya Mum’ celebration night starting at 7pm at The Red Door. Its BYO Mum, and it does not have to be your own! So come along and bring a Mum.
