The RED DOOR

This Sunday 14th Feb

14feb Today the 12th February, the WA government has confirmed the return to pre-lockdown life from 12.01am Sunday, 14 February. This means the whole of Western Australia will return to the pre-lockdown conditions, as experienced prior to 6pm on Sunday, 31 January. As a result we will be holding a 10am and 4pm service on the 14th of February for a maximum of 250 people in unit 4, and 120 for units 5 and 6 each. RedKids will be running in the morning and Stomping Ground and Red Door Youth at the 4pm service.

We are also holding a ‘Join the Family’ session at 12pm in the unit 4 auditorium this Sunday. If you are new to Red Door and you’re wondering what the next step for connection might be, it’s important to come and hear from Adam & Dale who’ll be communicating where we’ve come from and what we’re about, where we’re going and how you can be part of that. There is no need to register just show up.

You will be required to register upon arrival at our registration station located in the entrance corridor of unit 4. There are two ways to record your attendance, via the SafeWA app or the manual handwritten slip on entry. People under 16 years of age are not required to register. More info at www.safewa.health.wa.gov.au

Thanks to everyone who participated in HouseChurch last Sunday. Due to the 7th of February being a forced HouseChurch, our planned HouseChurch of the 28th February will be postponed till the 28th March. In short the 28th February will be normal services at 10am and 4pm.

A word on masks! Generally we try to avoid the wearing of masks in church (the metaphorical kind) and as of Sunday the wearing of physical masks is no longer required. Yay. If however, you still want to wear a mask for health, or perhaps for fashion reasons, you are more than welcome to.

Upcoming Team Meetings:

Host Team: Tuesday, 16 February at 7pm at 4/33 Hammond auditorium.

HouseChurch & Connect Leaders: Thursday, 18 February at 7pm at 4/33 Hammond auditorium.

Music Team: Tuesday, 23 February at 7pm at the 4/33 Hammond auditorium.

Are you currently serving on the Host Team, Music Team or leaders of a Connect Group or HouseChurch? These are crucial meetings to attend. We will be gathering together as a team to go over all the new changes in these areas for 2021. Please make sure to mark your calendars as it’s important to be there. Please RSVP to your team leaders. If you are interested in serving or leading in any of these areas please feel free to come along!

Thank you for your continued unity.

HouseChurch Survey

survey A couple of Sundays ago we announced in church that we would be sending out a survey to you all to help us in our planning and outworking of HouseChurch in 2021. We’d greatly appreciate it if each family could take a few minutes to complete this online survey at www.tiny.cc/hcsurvey

We’d also like to remind all HouseChurch and Connect Group leaders, and anyone interested in hosting/facilitating a HouseChurch this year, that we are having a Vision and Information session on the 10th February at 7pm at Red Door which we would love for you to be a part of.

We realise that with any change of this nature there are challenges, uncertainties and unforeseen kinks to be addressed and ironed out, so we are kindly asking for your patience during this process which we expect may take some time to fully form and integrate. However, when it is fully integrated, we are certain that it is something that will be a huge blessing to our church.

Church update

UPDATE_WIDE Church Update: 4 February 2021 . 10.45am

We have been closely monitoring developments throughout this week’s lockdown and we’re delighted to hear that yesterday was the third day of no new cases. The good news each day has been encouraging, however, we need to remember that our ultimate trust isn’t in stats and news reports and to keep our eyes on Jesus, not news feeds.

So the question many of you probably have is “what about Sunday?” There has been strong indications from the Government that even if we are blessed with a zero streak of new case through to Friday there will continue to be stringent restrictions for a least another week. The hard lockdown could well finish but it would seem that the Government will enact a gradual easing of restrictions which will likely mean continued restrictions around larger gatherings for an additional week or so.

Given we will not know until late in the week exactly what post-Friday will look like, and therefore how we will effectively manage requirements, we have decided not to meet in person this Sunday 7th February but rather return to a HouseChurch format. We will provide HouseChurch content as we have previously done which will be available by Saturday evening at www.thereddoor.cc/house and via the app.

Right now, gathering in small groups in homes for HouseChurch is not possible, but this may change come Sunday. We will keep you informed if anything changes here. So currently HouseChurch will be limited to your immediate family in your own home.
So, to be clear, this Sunday there will be NO church gathering at 33 Hammond Rd at either 10am or 4pm.

Red Door Youth will be gathering via zoom at 4pm via www.tiny.cc/rdyouthzoom.

Keep safe and let’s be in prayer for those affected by the bush fires as well as the COVID-19 situation.
