The RED DOOR

9 May 2021

title_seek We are on this Sunday morning the 9th May at 10am WITHOUT Masks! Good news!

This Sunday is Mothers Day and we are starting a new series entitled ‘Seek First His Kingdom’. We will be holding a 10am service at 33 Hammond Rd with RedKids running. An important note is that we are NOT having a 4pm service this Sunday (including no Red Door Youth service) in order that you can spend the afternoon with your mum - please take the arvo to celebrate and encourage the significant women in your life and bless them.

2 May 2021

title_4k copy In light of the change to restrictions announced by the government on Thursday evening, we’ve made the call to not gather this Sunday for our 10am and 4pm services at Hammond Road but to instead gather in HouseChurch groups. The current updated restrictions, that will come into effect as of Saturday, allow for gatherings in homes of up to 30 people. Therefore, you will be able to gather this weekend with your HouseChurch group and we’d really encourage you to do so. Youth will again gather via Zoom.

As usual all the content will be available as soon as possible at www.thereddoor.cc/house

Just to note, under the updated restrictions we are allowed to gather again corporately but the wearing of masks would be required. Wearing masks in a corporate worship gathering is challenging for a number of different reasons which is why we made the call to do HouseChurch instead. This Sunday we had planned to do our Red Door Report. For the uninitiated, the Red Door Report is something we do annually where we give an update on all the facts and stats relating to our church and present key thoughts on the way forward for Red Door. It’s a really important Sunday in the life of our church.

Because it is so important, we did wrestle with whether doing the Red Door Report via video in a HouseChurch context was the best option and if it would actually be better to postpone it. But, as we prayed and pondered, we decided that there was a real opportunity for the Report to be shared in this way. The key benefit we felt was that the HouseChurch context provides an opportunity for what is presented to not just be heard but to be discussed and prayed through also. Due to the significant nature of parts of this years Report we believe this will be incredibly helpful for us all.

If you are not yet in a HouseChurch group you can still do HouseChurch with your family or on your own depending on your circumstances. We know this isn’t ideal for some but we would still love for you to be a part of what is being shared this weekend.
