Church update
Church Update: 4 February 2021 . 10.45am
We have been closely monitoring developments throughout this week’s lockdown and we’re delighted to hear that yesterday was the third day of no new cases. The good news each day has been encouraging, however, we need to remember that our ultimate trust isn’t in stats and news reports and to keep our eyes on Jesus, not news feeds.
So the question many of you probably have is “what about Sunday?” There has been strong indications from the Government that even if we are blessed with a zero streak of new case through to Friday there will continue to be stringent restrictions for a least another week. The hard lockdown could well finish but it would seem that the Government will enact a gradual easing of restrictions which will likely mean continued restrictions around larger gatherings for an additional week or so.
Given we will not know until late in the week exactly what post-Friday will look like, and therefore how we will effectively manage requirements, we have decided not to meet in person this Sunday 7th February but rather return to a HouseChurch format. We will provide HouseChurch content as we have previously done which will be available by Saturday evening at www.thereddoor.cc/house and via the app.
Right now, gathering in small groups in homes for HouseChurch is not possible, but this may change come Sunday. We will keep you informed if anything changes here. So currently HouseChurch will be limited to your immediate family in your own home.
So, to be clear, this Sunday there will be NO church gathering at 33 Hammond Rd at either 10am or 4pm.
Red Door Youth will be gathering via zoom at 4pm via www.tiny.cc/rdyouthzoom.
Keep safe and let’s be in prayer for those affected by the bush fires as well as the COVID-19 situation.
